Eduardo Donoso

Chairman

Eduardo is Director of Donoso and Sons Pty Ltd, and is originally from Chile. He has over 25 years’ experience as an engineer, working within the heavy engineering, mining, defence and maintenance service industries both in Australia and abroad.

He is also highly skilled in management, manufacturing, procurement, and construction. He has extensive volunteer experience, including involvement with the Regional Development Australia Eyre Peninsula Board, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Aboriginal Employment Industry Cluster, and the Advisory Committee to the Industry Capability Network of SA. Through LASSA, Eduardo’s goal is to foster, promote and maintain Latin America’s cultural values to enrich the broader South Australian community through increased cultural diversity.

Michael Blake

Director

Michael works in agribusiness at South Australia’s Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA). He grew up in Patagonia, Argentina and speaks fluent Spanish and French.

Michael has been a member of the Australia-Latin America Business Council since its inception. He worked for over 25 years with Elders (a leading Australian agribusiness) and French multinational Chargeurs, operating international trade activities, mainly in the agricultural commodities area. His agribusiness experience is in market access, development and intelligence, as well as extension, innovation and transfer of technology in the livestock industries. He travels regularly to Latin America, freely giving of his knowledge to the agribusiness sector.

Michael is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has a Bachelor of Animal Science, and has lived and worked in Australia, New Zealand, the Americas, and Europe.

Glauce Raymundo

Glauce Raymundo is Brazilian and arrived in Adelaide in 2015. As a psychologist and Yoga instructor, with over 15 years of experience in Brazil, Glauce has been offering free workshops on mental health, mindfulness and meditation for Portuguese speakers in Adelaide, as well as engaging with the Multicultural Communities Council of South Australia in a range of activities, on behalf of the Brazilian community.

In 2017, she decided to pursue a Master Degree in Business Administration and Public Health, being invited to teach for Torrens University`s Public Health and Community Services programs. In 2019, having completed her post-graduate qualification, Glauce set up her own counselling practice in Adelaide, while also working as a family educator and counsellor, for the Department of Social Services in South Australia. Over the past year, Glauce remained offering free online workshops on mental health and wellbeing for Portuguese speakers, as well as liaising with a variety of stakeholders on behalf of the Brazilian community in Adelaide. Being passionate about mental health and wellbeing, sustainability and collective effort, Glauce is looking forward to joining LASSA, on behalf of the Latin American community in South Australia.

Luis Gardeazabal

Director

Luis is originally from Colombia and is currently working as Manager of Student Support and Retention for the University of South Australia Students’ Association. He has over 12 years of work experience in tertiary education student support, having worked in different roles across different countries and organisations such as the Organisation of American States in Washington D.C., Macquarie University, and the University of New South Wales.

He also has a background in Australian immigration, as he studied a Graduate Certificate of Australian Migration Law and Practice at Australian National University and worked in the field for over 5 years. His work at the University of South Australia Students’ Association has included creating and developing the internationally recognised Advocacy Internship Program, presenting the program at several conferences in Australia and Spain, and implementing the successful financial counselling service for students.

He loves to play sports, including indoor soccer, outdoor soccer, tennis and surfing.

Steve Van der Henst

Event Specialist

Steve is a Guatemalan entrepreneur, with more than 12 years’ experience in the events industry. Founder of one of the production companies in Guatemala awarded by the German government for being one of the best ventures of the year. Among his clients were the US, Italy and Spain Embassy, American Chamber of Commerce, and helped found the Guatemalan Trade Union for Event Professionals.

Passionate about community service, he dedicated more than 8 years of his life as a volunteer firefighter, rescuer, and paramedic in his home country. Just arriving in Australia, he was a volunteer in ADRA, helping in the creation of 2 shelters for SA Bushfire Disaster Relief, and in the distribution of water pumps to people heavily affected by bushfires, as well as helping in the distribution and logistics of LASSA’s Food Relief program.

He is currently working in the Scuba Diving Industry, discovering the wonders of South Australia’s underwater world.

Marianne Blanck

Marianne has more than 6 years of experience in Digital Marketing and brand creation, working with different companies in social media strategy and analytics. In the last years, she has been able to develop her professional skills, working in digital transformation projects for clients in Central America, Mexico, and Europe.

Javier Echegaray

Javier is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He works as a Policy Officer at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet of South Australia since 2018. Javier has experience both in the private and public sector, including Policy officer with +2 years’ experience in the South Australian Public Sector (ongoing).

Stephanie was raised in a multicultural home in rural Australia. Her humble country roots, combined with extensive overseas travel, have led to a passion for culture and connecting communities that she devotes her life to today.

As an undergraduate student studying international relations and Spanish, she is currently working on a project that focuses on improving the education system for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth from remote communities who are attending school in major cities.

She is also working on a program to unite Adelaide’s Latino community around a common goal of improving their English conversation abilities. The program aims to empower individuals by building their confidence and vocabularies in a safe and welcoming environment. She believes that working with LASSA positively impacts the community, not only in south Australia, but in the whole Spanish speaking world.

Her passion for the law made her the author of the book “The Dispute Resolution Boards in Peruvian State Contracting”. Also, she has been recognized in National and International Arbitration competitions (MOOT) for her legal and public speaking skills.

Greco is a Colombian Graphic Designer, he has a Bachelor’s in marketing and advertising, with studies in design, music, and sound.
